Wow it's been a while since I've posted in here. Life just gets super busy and the time slips away from you. This last week I spent some time in Oakland to attend a training seminar for work. While I was there, I was able to spend some time with my parents and Aunt out in Orinda, which is a quiet, rural little suburb of the bay area in Northern California. There's an abundance of lush greenery and all of the houses are tucked into parts of the hills. My Aunt has this peaceful little patio area and garden on the side of her house, and I happened to get to her place right after it had been raining. It made for some really colorful photographs and made me remember to appreciate the little beautiful things that we get to see every day. There's something about the colors in maples that always photograph in such a stunning way. They are supposed to represent the wisdom of balance, which is something that I definitely need to keep in mind these days when my life tends to get skewed heavily in one way or another.
